Date: 26th Feb 2025

We are pleased to announce the latest update to Kadal for Schools, introducing new features, interface improvements, and key fixes to enhance usability and performance. This release also includes agent management and repository functionality updates, along with several system refinements.

Key Features

Enhanced File Management in the Repository

Users now have more control over file organization within the Repository:

  • My Space allows users to upload and manage personal files, including the ability to create folders.
  • Shared with Me provides a centralized view of all files and folders shared by an admin.
  • Users can now select files from both My Space and the Repository while creating Agents, simplifying workflow integration.

Improved AI Agent Creation Workflow

When creating Agents, users can now select files from both My Space and the Repository for seamless workflow integration. Additionally, to ensure better alignment with institutional workflows, new AI Agent categories have been added:

  • Operations
  • Communications
  • Administration
  • Teaching & Learning
  • Student Success
  • Professional Development

These categories help admins structure their AI agents more effectively, improving accessibility and usability.

Other Enhancements

  • SSO Login Confirmation – Now displayed only on the first login within a browser session to reduce unnecessary prompts.
  • Group Activation & Deactivation Messaging – Improved messages provide better clarity for admins.
  • Chat Input Behavior – The cursor now remains in the input field after a response, ensuring a smoother chat experience.
  • Agent Notifications – Email notifications for agent publishing/unpublishing have been stopped to reduce inbox clutter.
  • Role Switching – Switching roles between users has been disabled for better system stability.

Defect Fixes

Several important fixes have been implemented in this release, including:

  • Google SSO Confirmation Issue – Users were repeatedly prompted for confirmation when logging in with Google SSO. This has been resolved.
  • Incorrect Default Model in Threads – Claude 3.5 Haiku was incorrectly set as the default model in Threads; this is now fixed.
  • Agent Creation Modal Issue – Clicking outside the Agent creation modal previously caused data loss by closing the window. This has been corrected.
  • Thread Selection Fix – Switching between threads and starting a new chat now functions correctly without displaying previous selections.
  • Unnecessary Email Notifications – Users who were not part of a deactivated/reactivated group were receiving unnecessary notifications. This has been fixed.

Upcoming Features & Improvements

Looking ahead, we are working on:

  • Enhanced RAG pipeline for better AI response accuracy.
  • File processing indicators in the Repository to show when files are being processed.
  • Direct file uploads from a local system while creating Agents.
  • Guided best practices and contextual information during Agent creation to improve usability.
